When hydrant flushing is needed to be conducted, flushing the system may introduce discolored water. If you notice discolored water in your home, run an outside faucet or your bathtub faucet for 15 minutes or until the water runs clear. The discoloration is not harmful, but is due to the disturbance of sediment and iron that may have built up on the inside of the piping. If discolored water persists, please contact Public Works at (815) 467-8868.
