GRUNDY COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT – NOTICE OF ROAD CONSTRUCTION

The Grundy County Highway Department, in coordination with the Village of Minooka, is planning to begin the Ridge Road project in the summer of 2020.  Ridge Road will be widened to five lanes from Mondamin Street to McEvilly Road in Minooka.  The work is expected to last two construction seasons and will be completed in fall of 2021.

Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction as the contractor will be removing the existing roadway, installing new storm sewers, placing new concrete pavement, curbs and sidewalks and a multi-use path throughout the corridor.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area.  Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changing conditions and signs in the work zone, obey the posted speed limits, refrain from using mobile devices and remain alert for worker and equipment.
