ELECTRONICS RECYCLING

Many electronics contain hazardous material, and are banned from Illinois landfills.  Waste haulers are not allowed to accept many electronics in curbside pick up.  Homewood Disposal, which is known as NuWay Disposal here in Minooka, offers electronic pick up services for a fee.  Visit mydisposal.com for more information and to schedule a pickup.

In addition to the services through NuWay, certain counties offer other options for electronic recycling:

  • Will County offers a year-round electronic drop-off program.  Proof of Will County residency is required, and there are several drop-off sites available.  Visit willcountygreen.com for more information.

  • Grundy County Land Use periodically holds electronic collection events, as well as paint collection, shredding, and tire recycling events.  These are open to residents of Grundy and surrounding counties.  Visit grundyco.org for more information.
